We’re thrilled to share Effective Altruism Australia’s new three-year strategic plan—a roadmap that builds on nearly a decade of impact and sets us up for an even more meaningful future.
What We’ve Achieved Together 💪
Since 2015, we’ve grown from a small team of volunteers trying to enable tax-deductible grants to the most effective global health charities to becoming Australia’s leading platform for effective giving. In 2022-2023 alone, our incredible donor community:
- Supported over 1 million people
- Saved roughly 1,000 lives
- Provided 430,000 children with preventive antimalarial drugs
- Delivered vitamin A supplements to 420,000 people

Three Objectives for 2025-2027:
1️⃣ Deliver More Money to High-Impact Causes
We’re targeting ~15% average annual growth. With most Australians ranking in the top 4% of global income earners, there’s incredible untapped potential for effective giving.
2️⃣ Build the Effective Altruism Community
From students exploring impactful careers to professionals seeking meaningful ways to contribute—we’re creating spaces for connection, learning, and action. EAGx will continue as our flagship community event.
3️⃣ Sustain Our Organisation
We’re professionalising our operations, hiring our first CEO, and building the infrastructure needed to serve our growing community for decades to come.
Why This Matters 🌍
Australia is incredibly fortunate—we’re among the richest countries globally, with average incomes higher than 97.5% of the world. This puts us in an exceptional position to improve lives everywhere. With over 700 million people living on less than ~A$2.80 per day, transferring resources effectively can create extraordinary impact.

We’ve just hired our new CEO, Grace Adams, and had our biggest fundraising month on record. We’re looking forward to implementing exciting new initiatives across fundraising, community building, and operations.
