Effective Altruism Australia is looking for a volunteer UI/UX designer to help improve the user experience across our digital platforms.
Our goal is simple: make it easier for people to discover, understand, and act on the most effective ways to do good. From donation journeys to impact tools and educational resources, thoughtful design can dramatically increase engagement and make high-impact giving more accessible. This role is ideal for someone who wants to use their design skills for meaningful impact, contributing to a mission-driven ecosystem focused on solving the world’s most pressing problems.
What you might work on:
Depending on your interests and availability, projects could include:
- Improving the donation user journey
- Designing or refining impact calculators
- Improving UX across resources, guides, and tools
- Reviewing and suggesting improvements to site structure and navigation
- Creating wireframes or prototypes for new features
- Providing UX feedback on new campaigns or digital initiatives
Who this role is for:
You may be a great fit if you:
- Have experience in UI/UX design, product design, or digital experience design
- Are comfortable working with wireframing tools such as Figma, Sketch, or similar
- Care about evidence-based giving and effective philanthropy
- Enjoy solving real-world user experience problems
- Can contribute casually and remotely
