Terms and Conditions

Donating Matching EOFY June 2026

These terms apply to matched giving offers for both Effective Altruism Australia (EAA) (global health and poverty) and Effective Altruism Australia Environment (EAAE) (climate change). Where conditions differ between the two charities, both are noted.

Eligibility

  • This matched giving offer is available to:
    • New Donors: Individuals who have never donated to the relevant charity (EAA or EAAE).
    • Lapsed Donors: Donors whose last contribution to the relevant charity was made before 31 May 2025. Please use the same email address used for past donations.
  • The match applies to donations made between 1 June and 11:59PM AEST 30 June 2026.
  • Donations to EAA and EAAE are treated separately. A donation to one charity does not qualify for the other charity’s match – eligibility and matching are assessed independently for each.

Match Details

  • Donations will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to a maximum of $5,000 per person across all donations made to the relevant charity during the campaign period.
  • The match applies to new donations made during the campaign period only and cannot be applied retrospectively.
  • Matching pools are available on a first-come, first-served basis:
    • EAA (global health and poverty): $300,000
    • EAAE (climate change): $50,000

General Conditions

  • All donations must be made directly through the relevant charity’s official donation channels (https://effectivealtruism.org.au/donate/ and https://effectivealtruism.org.au/donate-environment/)
  • Each charity reserves the right to verify donor eligibility and donation history.
  • Once a matching pool is exhausted, the relevant charity may choose to extend the match with additional funds, or end the match.
  • Each charity reserves the right to modify or terminate this campaign at any time with reasonable notice.
  • Tax-deductible receipts will be issued for the donor’s contribution only, not for the matched amount (as the matched funds come from a separate donor/fund).
