We have two wonderful volunteers at Effective Altruism Australia, Dominic and Maggie Frawley who have offered to present to workplaces, and other groups about effective giving. EAA’s Board chair, Michael Noetel has also offered to present in Brisbane.
I think this is a great way to introduce the ideas of effective altruism and effective giving to your colleagues, and networks without having to be the person who is pitching it directly.
The presentation will cover the differences between charity effectiveness, how much more good we can do by donating overseas, and how to choose where to donate with impact in mind.
May and June is a great time to host a talk with end of financial year (EOFY) coming up, as well as EAA running a matching campaign for new donors across June.
